- Everyone keeps comparing LeBron to MJ or Kobe, but Bill Simmons has an interesting comparison that upon further review is a darn good one, check it out.
- That old team from beantown knocked out the (Non)Fighting LeBrons and look to be in 2008 form. If the Celtics age doesn't catch up with them we could be looking at yet another Lakers-Celtics finals.
- All everyone keeps talking about in Lakers-Suns series is the Lakers inside presence and how there's nothing the suns can do about it. While the Suns don't have the size, they didn't seem to need it last round scoring most of their points from the outside against the Spurs. Nash may be the only player in the NBA that only needs one eye. This should be a good series.
- The Bruins choked. No other way to sugar coat it, to blow a 3-0 series lead and a 3-0 lead in Game Seven can only be described as so. Don't forget that this team was missing Krejci and Sturm for a good portion of the series but the real difference maker was Simon Gagne for the Flyers. Ever since he's come back this postseason, Philly is 5-0.
- David Ortiz may have awoken from his slump (kind of). He has been hitting for more power with 3 HRs and 11 RBI in his last 11 games despite still hitting a Carlos Pena-like .224 average.
- U of Miami Head Coach Randy Shannon signed a four-year extension this past week. While Shannon's record (21-17) isn't impressive, he has improved the win total each season in his tenure. This year is do or die, BCS or next year he's on a serious hot seat, 'Canes fans are not patient.
- In other U news, Miami and Notre Dame are close to an agreement for three games over the next six years or so. They will meet at Solider Field in Chicago in 2012, then carry on a home-and-home series in 2014 and 16. Catholics vs. Convicts is back!
